WOYWW!!!!

Now you maybe you are thinking... what is Lisa up to lately, well the answer is not as much scrapping as I'd like! but I have been taking delivery of a few TH goodies of late then yesterday after I blogged, old GB came up the steps shoved a parcel thru my letter box and legged it! I got the TH tatty leaves and also the lovely rosette strip die too.... And I'm not sure if I mentioned the other week but I also got a TH box, which I have decided to keep my tools in til I get some distress embossing powders.... something for the christmas list there me thinks! and the scout badge is to remind me to sew it on Doms' top for tomorrow night as he is being invested at cubs but tonight is the night when Ethan is being invested at Beavers!!!

And the bag of buttons is for my friends 2 year old daughter as Alun has to go to the Bath office today and my friend has been seconded into keeping an eye on me til Alun comes back.... so I got her daughter a bag of buttons.... and I must take my camera with me to record the moment! or should that be the melting moment!!!

Finally finding the time!!!

The last week has been a good week in some respects but not so good in others....

I have taken delivery of some rather excellent stash! not sure which arrived when so I'll just show you!

So, I ordered some adirondack colour wash sprays, some TH alpha dies and some Banana Frog alphabet stamps too
The colours of the sprays are butterscotch, espresso, eggplant and denim.












The alphabet strips are upon a time and vintage market








And the BF stamps are steelfish outline upper and lowercase, which is actually the Banana Frog font!














Then my long awaited for TH stamps arrived from America and I love them even more than I thought I would!!!

















Ooh and I forgot to mention the other week that Mr Wonderful bought me the tattered florals bigz die the other week too, so I thought I could slip that in here and some folk may not notice;-)


















Then the stamps that I ordered from craftie-charlie arrived and they are great too!! 3 sets of inkadinkadoo inchies, they are Morphic Blocks, Butterflies and Flowers! I fancied the Birds and Swirls sets too but have decided to wait and see what happens as my birthday is approaching rapidly!







Then yesterday a parcel arrived that totally rocked me! A good few weeks back now, I signed up for an atc swap based on the twilight saga! Then I had a relapse with my back and decided it wouldn't be fair on the girls in the swap to continue and produce work that was not up to their standard, so thought it best to back out of the swap sadly and just admire their work from afar!!! The parcel was full of ATCs! from some wonderful ladies on UKS, Tigger2daMax organised the swap and put some in as did Looby Loo, Dragonfly Jane, Amanda-Mary, Meg Baby and Whisker Biscuit!!!













So it was soggy eyes time again!!!

I nearly always forget something!!!

Here is a layout I did with the September kit from Sarahs Cards, the pics I used are of my fabulous father-in-law, John, when he was in his early 20s and playing in a band and also the Birthday card that Alun and I made between us for his dads 71st birthday! John loves planes and used to regularly go to air shows with his sons when they were younger so Happy Birthday again for last week John xxx

This was a song we used to sing in junior school! I don't know why but the song just popped into my head! and I recall a boy in my class called David Ewen standing on the school stage singing it too...

The mind boggles!

Some goodies bought and some delivered....finally!

Alun took me to Craft Works in Gloucester Road today, I've never been there before and it had a relatively good selection of stash too! It wasn't the most comfortable trip as we have road humps and pot holes down the road we have to drive down and then we got thru the village and on to the Motorway and bless poor Alun, he did his best but I am the worst passenger ever and am definitely a passenger seat driver too... but we got there and he spent a few more pennies than he had banked on but I left with a new bigz die.

Then we made our way home and I navigated saying lets go a different way, we cut off about twenty minutes on the journey home... Then as Alun opened the front door (when we had left earlier, we saw the postie and I said as we were going out did he have anything for us? "No!" says Mr Grumpy....) So, there was a little grey parcel waiting for me!:-D Yay! My Bam Pop stamps that I ordered, what seems like ages ago now! Had finally arrived! So P and V came today but as an online friend hadn't seen them before, I did say that I would blog the rest of my small but highly addictive collection! I just wish my TH stamps that I ordered last month would hurry up and arrive!!!!

Anyway, So halfway thru blogging, there was a knock on the door and my kit from Sarah's Cards has come early and it is from the fabulous Jillibean Soup company and has lots of lovely things in it to play with too!

And now the kids have all dived in to my room as they are home from school! Ethan now has 3 books a week to read, Dominic fancies doing Basketball on a Monday Evening aftet school but it's £42... for 12 sessions, not sure I can afford it this term as they have all had to have totally new uniforms, shoes and trainers and then Tessa, bless her, says she has been made house captain!!! That girl will go far!!! She is so outgoing and very popular, I don't know where she gets it from cos I was no-where as popular and Alun was always very shy kid at school but then they realised he was just super brainy....lol;-)

Boo!! to the RM and USPS

I am waiting for 2 parcels that are on their way from the US and the postal service on both sides of the ponds seems to be sadly lacking, well in my area anyway, take this morning for instance! I was in and DH was out he came in and said there is a red card on the door mat! But he never even knocked I said!!! So that must have come via the van delivery then the other postie turns up and all i get is a mini boden catalog!!!!! Where are my TH and Bam Pop stamps??? Still wonderful DH dashed down to the collection office just before they closed and managed to get my parcel for me! a gorgeous TH embossing powders box which can be used for anything really! DH said it reminded him of the old style metal lunch box!!!:lol:












Ps. I haven't actually got any distress embossing powders as of yet!

Fantastic News - No op for me!

To cut a long story short, after seeing a member of the neuro team at Frenchay Hospital earlier this week, they showed me my spine and commented how straight it was, the only problem being the prolapsed disc between L4 and L5 but after 10 weeks of rest... and pain killers of various types the prolapse has shrunk a bit but is still touching the nerve and causing the pain in that region and down my left femur, so instead of the dreaded op, I am being referred to the pain management clinic at the same hospital (9 week waiting list, I was informed this used to be 9 months!!!) so I should get my appointment in time for my 40th birthday!!! and I will embark on a year long programme to sort out my back and control/manage and hopefully decrease the pain and make a change in my life style too! The person I saw also went on to say that considering my height and build.... the wear and tear on the disc is 4 to 5 times less what they would expect for a person of my age too!!!! So he was very positive for me and just said to take things easy at first then by November I should be a lot more mobile and be able to drive to the hospital for treatment myself!!!
So it may have worked out better that the new desk I acquired is the right height for me to stand at instead of sitting although I have a high chair/stool that I could always lean or prop myself on instead...(insert happy sunny smiley emoticon)

and possibly in a years time I will be doing roly polys???


So just one minor grumble tho! I ordered some TH stamps from Simonsaysstamps on eBay and they still have yet to arrive nearly 4 weeks now, how come some people you order from the US come with a week and some take blooming ages??? huh!!! and I have also ordered some of the fabulous BAM POP stamps too and when they arrive I will blog those and the ones I have already to show suzysnail who has asked to see them! Hope you are good today Suzy and also Ally too

My lovely friend Heather has visitors over at the mo, so contact with her is minimal as I don't want to interrupt the time she has with her friends that she doesn't see that often... I am looking forward to a weekend away in Feb with the twilight addicts on UKS to make up for missing out on the weekend away I was supposed to be having in late Nov with some of the Frozen North ladies... my back couldn't take sitting well actually driving at least 6 hours to Moffat! really disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing Heather, Sarah, Jules, Pam, Lesley and Jen plus a few others too! It would be good to arrange a team get together sometime too but as one has a baby and some of us have health issues and work commitments I can't see that happening til later on in 2011 if not then then maybe spring on 2012...

Now I try to include a photo of my latest work with each post but as it has been lacking somewhat of late but the shopping hasn't!!!! no comment there, I will blog a pic of DS2 at his very first Beaver Braves session!!!

Well it's been a week since I've blogged

And this is the day the kids have been waiting for all summer!








































Can hardly believe the day has finally arrived although with it being a Friday they'll be back home for two days tonight!!! and It's Tessa's last year in "Juniors" looks like time really does fly when you are having fun!!
