At long last.... Photies!!

I'm finally happy with the way my scrapping area is laid out! It's taken me a while to get bits and pieces sorted and boxes in the right place too but from left to right is the 4x2 expedit unit on its side (in black)mostly full of punches and sizzix dies and my old blue ellison bigshot and on the top is my expression, above that are my shelves from the swedish shop full of little jars (also from the swedish shop!) these are full of buttons, brads and all sorts of fiddly little things plus I keep all my ek success punches on one of the shelves too, always close at hand! Above those are the white units that have lots of storage space and are handy for jars of ribbon, copic pens, glitterglues and my martha stewart punches. Then in the middle in front of the window is my desk (with handy ottlite and tool carousel from Great Little Trading Company)Under the desk is my red drawers (again from Ikea) these are full of ink pads, little green sizzix dies and A4 papers and photos to scrap! then to the right are my 4 4x4 expedit units in a black and white chequerboard style full of magazines, albums, sewing machine, small boxes of tools and things for making cards, 8x8 papers, acrylic stamps, alphas and the white drawers contain my CM cutting system, the small wooden chair is the oldest thing I own! (My dad brought it back for me when he was posted out to Mazirah when I was a baby and when he came home I was over a year old and he had missed out on 9 months of my first year!) next to that is my newest acquisiton, a 5x1 unit (upright and in white) this has all my kits and cardstock and the plastic pizza boxes (from the big craft shop at cribbs causeway or some from craft shows) then I have the pink, green and red drawers a few years back from qvc, they were a tsv and are handy just for storage although they did come filled full of DCWV stash....

So, see you next time then, who knows! I might even have a work in progress on my desk!

one for the family album

My lovely sister got married in October of 2007 to a lovely chap and i've been meaning to do a lo of their wedding... so here it is!

I started to do the weekly challenge on UKS last night but got side-tracked and ended up making a card for a teamie's birthday at the weekend so i'll be posting that at the weekend cos her birthday is saturday.

Still no photies!!!

My sister insisted that I go to London last Thursday to visit my brother who was in hospital there.... long story! but now he has gone back home and will probably be back in hospital by the end of today as he is experiencing severe chest pains and difficulty in breathing! plus after his injuries his GP put him on 8 weeks sick leave!! (my brother is not one to say he is ill or in pain, so just by the fact that he is saying so he must be feeling pretty rough!) The weather down here in Bristol is pretty pants at the mo... grey skies and almost constant drizzle! My poor teamie Suzy in Scotland has the white stuff today! so I guess I should be thankful that we don't have that!!!

The will to scrap is slowly dissipating but I still need to do my lo for scratch n sniff!! Kids are off for half term at the mo and they are excited to be visiting their Grandparents near the weekend and A has booked off a couple of days work too!

Bye for now, i'm off to listen to some more Breaking Dawn....

Happy Wednesday

I have moved my credroom around again!!! this time its really how i wanted it to be :-D my 4x2 expedit is now over the other side of the room where the birch side unit was (that is now in the boys room!) and Mr Wonderful got me a 5x1 white expedit unit which is ideal for my dies and kits, I've also invested in an Ottlite! so i can scrap late at night and not worry about naff colours appearing the next morning!;-)

Right then, its almost 1.20am and i am feeling the need for a bit of sleep... finally,

Thanks for popping by

This layout went together so quickly... it normally takes me a whole day to do one layout!

As I made mention last week about our team sketches, last night I found this sketch which was a pagemaps sketch from Nov 2010, I thought i'd upload it for our team to have a go at and then the weekly challenge was set this morning on UKS and Heather said the sketch was ideal for it, So I had a go at doing a layout combining the sketch and the challenge and am quite pleased with the results and the cupcakes were really, really gorgeous too!

Happy Birthday

To My Wonderful Friend Heather

Challenge layouts!

Every week on our team thread someone (mostly Heather, lol) puts up a sketch for us to use when we are doing a layout,

This week I managed to use it and used the photo of all the FBG's that went away last weekend. I am really pleased with how it turned out too!

The next layout I did was for the weekly challenge on UKS set by the Dizzy Dots, of which my lovely friend Karen is a member, she came away with us on the weekend away to Peace Haven and made the most delicious coffee cake ever!!! No, Seriously, it was soooo good I cried!!
So back to the layout! we had to use the sketch below

that the DDs chose and add pink and stitch on the layout too and the photo had to be a photo of a group of something, well I had already used the FBGs pic (Fat Bottomed Girls, named on account of K's husband coming out with the almost precise statement that most scrappers have a big bottom! lol and as I have always been a Queen fan, this song came straight to mind!)

So the pic in the layout is of myself, and fellow teamies in the Rik Rak Ravers Heather and Dee (who, I might add like one of the other scrappers that joined us that weekend (Carin) neither of them are FBGs but we won't hold that against them cos they are gorgeous and lovely! It was great to see Heather again as we have such a great time chatting on the phone and it was great to finally meet Dee too, I also like to chat on the phone to her too! and it was brilliant to get all 3 of us together too, we had such a great start to a fabulous weekend that we are starting to arrange another retreat for March 2012, most of the same ladies are going plus a few more too, all fab ladies and I'm looking forward to that weekend already...

When it's a Wednesay....

I try to participate in WOYWW! This week however, I am still behind and have only just finished bringing everything back in from the car from my weekend away!

On Thursday of last week, we had 2 extra staying over, My Wonderful friends Heather and Dee, then on Friday afternoon we all headed to Peace Haven in Honeybourne to meet up with 6 other lovely scrappers and we had lots of fun and laughter too (including some fabulous cakes and yummy food too!) Then on Sunday we headed to Bee Crafty to shop a little! then off back to Honeybourne to visit The Thatched Tavern for a lovely Sunday lunch then back home.

Back Home...

and so to bed!

I................need....................sleep!

Brill weekend and definitely love to go somewhere again!

Sunday, 6 February 2011

3.am @ Peace Haven!

Finally off to bed now! I've laughed so much in the last 60 hours my ribs ache and my throat is sore, my voice is going husky from all the chatter with 8 wonderful ladies who are staying here, the accommodation is a bit smaller than we expected but we put two more tables in to one building and 9 of us scrapped, ate, joked, laughed and cried(with laughter!) We drank to the memory of a dear friend and wished a mum-to-be the best of luck with new beginnings too! As is usual on these weekends away, all I ever managed to scrap is two layouts!! but meeting up and chatting is all part of the recreational activities! Tomorrow we are off to Bee Crafty to have a little spend then lunch at The Thatched Tavern!

So, I'll say goodnight and til the next time...

Sketch and Scrap layout

You Gotta Love Sharpie...
Last week I found my sharpie pen in my handbag! I had yet to use it and Ethan saw me with it and asked what it was! So, me being me I told him it was a moustache maker!

To this comment he asked if he could have one! Well, I try not to deprive my kids of stuff so here he is with said moustache! I must add that when he went to school the next day, He still had a faint trace of moustache about him....
