A trip to the opticians....

I've been mainly making cards this week! 5 in fact! (I will blog them on Sunday evening, by then the recipents should have opened them) So after school tonight we took the kids to the opticians to have Ethans' eyes tested and didn't tell the other 2 that in fact they were also booked in too!  Duncan the optician was an absolute star and kept all 3 entertained and chatted to them non-stop, he even said it was ok for me to snap away when I explained I scrapbooked too!

So apparently these glasses make you see 3D effects when you look at certain pics!
Getting ready to do some testing!

The next test was checking the actual eyes or as Duncan told the kids, he was checking so see if their brains were working!!!
And then we went out into the main shop area and Ethan chose his glasses which should be ready in about a weeks' time!

Next we called in to Waitrose on the way home to grab something for dinner and by the time we left there it was bucketing down outside, so we legged it for the car and when we got home and the kids had emptied their school bags, Dominic suddenly shouted "Mummy, look what I got today!"
And then I felt awful because I forgot to mention that last Friday he came home with this!!!

And while I am being a proud mum I'd better mention that he also came home mid-week with a silver award certificate for reaching 250 house points!!!

Yay! Go Dimka!!!

Then we all tucked in to pizza and garlic bread for dinner!

Thanks for dropping by

The weekly challenge on uks!

A few months back (well, December to be honest) I got pretty cheesed off with my hair, so I did something a bit daft but it was quite enlightening! lol.... So this week the challenge was to scrap something using a title by Elvis, so I looked thru the list and found the ideal title!

I did get some strange looks in the playground picking the kids up wearing a funky headscarf and my joe walsh hat on top of that... So that got me thinking, I measured my hair last night and its now four inches long! in seven months!!! I think the first three months were the worst! I was so cold! Next time I'll try to remember to do it in the summer.....

Prior to doing that layout, I finally finished the challenge with Heather, we take it in turns to set each other a sketch and we both do a layout sometimes we use the same kit too, this time I used the April kit from the lovely Sandra at Gottacraft.

The pic is of my wonderful husband, Alun in 1997 (I think!) It surprises me when I look at pics from over ten years ago how much weight he has lost!

Hasn't he changed!!!

A Lazy Sunny Afternoon....

The boys went off to play with their mates and came back after 3 hours thoroughly soaked!

In the meantime the sensible folk had a musical interlude.
How lucky I am to be surrounded by these beautiful people, sometimes I feel a tad inadequate but revel in their happiness.....

Then Tessa decided to show off her gymnastic abilities....

Not too sure about some of the facial expressions!
Bend Ze Knees!

Point Ze Toes!

And Dismount!

Not sure if she'll get points for that dismount
but in our house you always get points for trying!

The next two pics are for Carin cos she wanted to see, They are pics of the stash that I won in a prize draw from Cre8tive Online so a big thanks to Katie and Dave from the company! They do fab stuff there and that is also where I got my melt pot from last month... and saw the prize draw and had a go never thinking I would win!!!

lets see that again from the reverse angle!
45 sheets of paper and 30 sheets of bazzill cardstock! As Heather will tell you, I was really surprised when I got the email and rang her up in a state of shock and screaming with delight! that's the second thing I've won this year!!!

Dominic and the Digger effect!

Yesterday I took the kids over to see my sister, dosing up the allergy kid with the usual medicaments and talking a couple of inhalers with me too as my sister had informed me that she was looking after a cockatiel and a jack russell terrier for two friends that were away on separate holidays...
All was well when we arrived for a few hours then when my sister finally got dressed(!) and we headed off to her local supermarket to get some grub for lunch and I suggested taking Digger with us and Tessa was more than happy to wait outside with him and walk him around the carpark! Well by the time we had parked and gotten out of the car, I looked over at Dominic cos I thought he sounded stuffy! OMG! I said to my sister did the shop have a pharmacy? Thank heavens it did! I rushed Dominic over to the counter and spoke to a lovely chap called Mark, who couldn't be more helpful, we the spoke to the pharmacist and between my, my sister, Mark and the pharmacist we managed to get some more stuff into Dominic, something for his sinuses and drops for his eyes! I have never seen his eyes react like they did and am planning on taking him to the GPs and asking her to refer him for allergy testing as he seems to be reacting to more things lately and plus with the pollen count being so high yesterday too and the heat (26C) I am wary of what the summer will bring! Anyway we made it back to my sisters and it took til about 9pm for his eyes to look some way back to being normal again!

Tessa meeting up with Digger, she had met him before when he was a pup and they got on very well!

Dominic meeting Digger for the first time, we never managed to get a pic of Ethan and Digger as Ethan wasn't too sure and even when we left, he was still wary...
I still can't believe this is Dominic! his eyes are so swollen, it almost makes him unrecognisable to me! poor thing!
I wanted to upload this pic too as it was from the previous day when I managed to get the wiggly tooth out and you can see how his eyes are normally!
(except he nearly always blinks when the flash goes off!)

Tessa took this pic of Ethan in the car on the way home just as he was falling asleep!

And finally..... Who lives in a street called this?

The boys wondered if it might be James May as they have noticed he says it alot on Top Gear! We did notice the next street was called Bunnies Lane but didn't manage to get a photo of that sign this time, maybe next!!!
Til next time

Phew, its been a busy few days and the weekend aint over yet!

On Friday night we went along to Dominic's Beavers, Cubs and Scouts camp fire and bbq at their Glenny Wood base...
The boys who use the camp are so lucky there is so much to do there and the space is well utilised, I know Ethan is bursting for a place to become available so he can start!

So here are a few pics of the night, then a few lo's I have made from some of the photos using the May Gotta Craft kit from the lovely Sandra....
Tessa and her friend Harriet, playing with the timer on my camera!
Tessa took this lovely photo of
Ethan in amongst the bluebells
Dominic had a few words to say on the night about
Easter Activities in the Beaver Troop
and decided to wear bunny ears too!
We didn't start the fire! and we have the evidence to prove it! lol, btw, Alun and I were singing that song to ourselves for the rest of the evening, when we weren't joining in with the singalong!
Dominic with Paul Drew, one of the Beaver leaders
This chap was called Andy,
he was great at crowd incitement!
I had to include this pic, we couldn't believe all the badges he had and the poncho style quilt was fabulous when you got a good look at it too....
My Guys!

The lady with the bunny ears below is Jo Drew, she is another of the Beaver leaders and as you can see, has a fantastic sense of humour too!
And now for the two layouts that I've done so far! I'm really pleased with how they have both turned out and wish you could see them IRL!  cos to me they always look better that way!

Thats it so far, thanks for looking
