Oh dear

Today, things have not gone to plan! I shan't elaborate but carry on as normal...

Last night I went to Beavers and had a good time with D and the other little chaps, two of the leaders made a point of coming up to me and telling what a nice young chap D is and they hoped I was as proud of him as I should be! What could I say! but tell them that is was the 2nd and 3rd time I'd been told that this week! D is lovely and such a caring, thoughtful person for one so young!!!

Insomnia strikes again!!!

How can a person be tired but as soon as their head hits the pillow they are wide awake??? So, I came downstairs and discovered my DD watching tv in the dark at 9.55(pm) on a school night cos 'she had a headache!' kids eh! anyway I told the little darling to go to bed and sat and watched last weeks episode of Shameless on sky+, i just wish i'd watched all the previous series cos i've only started watching this series and love it! mind you every so often i could hear shouting from DS1, he's a great sleeptalker that one!

So its almost 1.15am and i am off to bed to try to sleep again, ooh also watched Stephen Moyer on Wossy's show cos i missed it last week and he is scheduled to be on This Morning on Wednesday for any TB fans!

Wow, what a day!

Today is three years since my mum passed away! I have been quiet for most of the day, just scrapping and thinking of mum and then i decided to scrap a pic of her! Typically, I couldn't find the one i wanted to use but i did find these two pics of her parents when they where 17 and 21 and not yet married, mum always said her mum looked like a china doll, what do you think???

By the way, I used ribbon, flowers, brads, eyelets and dewdrops that i got in the twilight addicts swap!

Remember...

On UKS this fortnight, the twilight addicts are doing a mini cyber crop! I asked Rachael Elliott to set us a class which she so very kindly did.

I decided not to use the exact same papers as her but some Dream Street papers from the Nancy range! and printed off my favourite photo of the kids for it! I also added some of the embellishments I got from our swap we had going too!

Until next time

The Tiddy Jiggy is finished!

So the main pic is the whole jiggy, from left to right and top to bottom

Dragonfly Jane, Pinkster, 3peaches,
Eluned, Leigh11, Magpie,
Sixofone, Wisher and Roxy52

So we have roxy52's piece which is Blues - music & colour, for this i gesso'd the piece then used alcohol inks in 3 different blues stuck on some musical notes and the words [a rhapsody of blues] then added another musical note to dangle off the bottom corner.

Then Eluned's piece which is Hollywood - bling & sparkle, for this i searched for the right image and found this one stuck it to the piece and decoupaged the word BLING on it and added a faux diamond ring as a dangler on the side.

Then Leigh11's celtic design, which as i've said before is a celtic love knot.

Then Magpie's piece, this one really got me thinking as she wanted Metal & grunge! i dabbed black and espresso dabbers over the gesso'd piece and covered it in glossy accents roughly for a grunge-y look then cut out some coggy shapes and a spanner in grungepaper then painted them silver and dry-brushed copper paint over then used funky brads for centre bolts and stuck them to the piece with glossy accents and glazed it again.

Then Dragonfly Jane's piece which is Magical Moon, for this i gesso'd the piece then used acrylic paints and stamped an image and stuck gems on the covered the whole piece in glossy accents for protection and shine.

Pinkster wanted vintage butterflies as her theme so it gave me a change to use the papers i bought at the scrapbook shop in Durham last October then decoupage 2 layers of butterflies that i had covered in crackle accents and put a smaller one in the corner covered it with stardust stickles, used a cropadile and added two eyelets and a pink ribbon tied in a bow!

For my theme i chose Egypt and covered the piece in gesso and painted it gold and used butterscotch and meadow alcohol inks for a tarnished look and decided that i wanted to do my name in hieroglyphics then again covered it with glossy accents!

Sixofone wanted Mickey and Friends as her theme, again i found an ideal image and printed it off and glued it to the piece then cut out mickey's outline and decoupaged it and covered it in glossy accents to strengthen the layer ( i used a bright citrus green instead of the usual black as i wanted it to be bright and cheery like Mickey's voice!

Wisher had just returned from a wonderful holiday/honeymoon and wanted her jiggy to represent the Caribbean Islands she had visited and asked for me to do her piece on Dominica! She had snorkelled around Champagne Reef and i decided i wanted a bubbly effect for her piece so i gesso'd the piece, painted it pool blue and added some funky underwater pieces to represent what she might have seen in the gorgeous waters then added clear dewdrops to represent the champagne bubbles then covered the whole thing in glossy accents to strengthen the piece and make it shiny!

I've had a fab weekend with some wonderful ladies and managed to do 2 lo's mind you the ladies who sat either side of me did 9 and 5 respectively so i either talked too much or am a super slow scrapper....

Then tonight i logged on and discovered an email from Janet of Pink Gem Designs saying i'd won the monthly draw!!!

Off for an early night now and get ready for the mini cc on Wednesday night!
